Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov is a novel about the bespectacled fictional professor, Timofey Pnin. He is a Russian émigré who moved to the United States and can’t quite find his way through it all. It is told through the voice of the lepidopterist, but that is only revealed later in the story. On the cover, Pnin’s eyes are shown in the wings of a butterfly, as his story is told through the lepidopterist. The title is not only written in English but in Cyrillic lettering as well, as Timofy Pnin would always have his heart and past in Russia, as he struggled to fit in his role at the university.
